Moss is Komos’s built-in AI assistant. It can do anything you can do on the platform: create tasks, configure integrations, set up schedules, manage credentials, and troubleshoot runs.

Getting started

Open Moss from the sidebar or click the floating button in the bottom right corner. Type what you want to do in plain language. Examples:
  • “Create a task that scrapes example.com/pricing every morning and emails me the results”
  • “Set up a Slack notification when my weekly report task fails”
  • “Why did my last run fail?”
  • “Connect my Google Sheet and create a task that updates it daily with new leads”
Moss maintains conversation context. You can ask follow-up questions, refine what it built, or ask it to modify existing tasks.

What Moss can do

Background jobs

For complex work (multi-step task creation, testing automations), Moss dispatches a background job. You will see a message like “I am working on this in the background.” The results appear in the conversation when the job completes.

Conversations

Each user has one active Moss conversation at a time. Starting a new conversation resets the context. Previous conversations are saved and visible in the conversation history.

Using Moss from your IDE

Moss is also available via MCP. AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI can talk to Moss using the ask_moss tool. See MCP Server for setup instructions.
